Wesupply.com's supply chain solution shortlisted for the Best of British Award 2007

The streamlining supply chain solution implemented by Wesupply.com at Cummins Turbo Technologies Limited has been recognised for the short-list in the Manufacturing Computer Solutions 'Best of British Award 2007. This is the second consecutive year that Wesupply.com has beaten off the cream of UK competition. In 2006 their solution for Cummins Generator Technologies was awarded 'overall winner' in the supply chain category.

The Manufacturing Computer Solutions' annual Best of British Manufacturing IT challenge is aimed at recognising the very best IT strategies and implementations in British manufacturing industry. The 2007 Awards are about promoting the critical business value of IT in underpinning and enabling superior business processes, competitiveness and profitability for UK plc.

An independent panel of judges was looking for clear and unambiguous evidence of hard actual and/or expected ROI achievements as well as broad soft benefits leading to business improvements, cost cutting and competitive advantage.

Wesupply.com's solution has given suppliers on the Cummins network real-time access to critical information to improve supplier performance and has reduced working capital by 22% and stock losses by approximately £80,000 pr annum. Suppliers, foundries and machining companies at every point in the chain now have real-time access to their requirements from Cummins allowing them to react to changes more efficiently and effectively.
